What is Laser Lipo?

Not all fat responds to diet and exercise

Laser Lipo is an FDA-cleared, laser-assisted liposuction system that targets subcutaneous fat, the layer that sits just beneath the skin and resists even the most disciplined routines. Unlike traditional liposuction, Laser Lipo delivers laser energy directly into the fat, liquefying it before removal while simultaneously stimulating collagen production to tighten overlying skin.

The result is a more contoured, refined silhouette with less trauma, less downtime, and results that continue to improve over months as your skin responds and tightens.

Visceral Fat

Not treatable with Laser Lipo

Deep fat surrounding internal organs. Reduced through diet, exercise, and lifestyle — no procedure addresses this layer.

Subcutaneous Fat

Laser Lipo Target

The layer just beneath the skin. This is stubborn, localized fat — exactly what Laser Lipo is designed to precisely remove and contour.

Why Laser Lipo?

Precision results. Minimal disruption.

01 — Laser-Assisted Fat Removal

Laser energy liquefies fat before extraction, allowing for more precise contouring and less mechanical trauma to surrounding tissue than traditional liposuction.

02 — Simultaneous Skin Tightening

The laser stimulates collagen and elastin production, tightening the skin from within — delivering results that improve progressively over six months.

03 — Minimal Downtime

Most patients return to light work within one to two days and resume light exercise by day four or five. No general anesthesia required.

04 — Typically One Session

Unlike treatments requiring multiple sessions, most patients achieve their desired outcome in a single Laser Lipo procedure.

05 — Performed Under Local Anesthesia

The procedure is performed with local anesthesia only — reducing risk, improving comfort, and shortening recovery compared to general anesthesia alternatives.

06 — Versatile Treatment Areas

Laser Lipo effectively treats the abdomen, flanks, thighs, arms, chin, back, and other areas with unwanted subcutaneous fat deposits.

What to Expect

Step by Step

Step 01 — Consultation & Mapping

Your provider assesses your anatomy, marks treatment areas, and photographs the planned zones. A personalized protocol is developed for your anatomy and goals.

Step 02 — Anesthesia & Tumescence

A mild sedative is offered for comfort. Local anesthesia is applied, followed by a numbing solution to prepare the treatment area and minimize bleeding.

Step 03 — Laser Delivery

Through micro-incisions, the Laser Lipo laser fiber is inserted beneath the skin. Laser energy liquefies fat and stimulates collagen tightening simultaneously.

Step 04 — Fat Aspiration & Finishing

Liquefied fat is gently aspirated. Your provider assesses your contour from multiple angles, cleans the area, applies dressings, and fits you with a compression garment.

Who is a Good Candidatefor Laser Lipo?

Laser Lipo works best for specific goals

The ideal Laser Lipo candidate is close to their healthy weight with localized fat deposits that haven't responded to diet and exercise. Laser Lipo is a contouring procedure — not a weight loss solution.

Good Candidate Criteria

  • Within 20–30 lbs of a healthy, stable goal weight
  • Stubborn, localized fat resistant to lifestyle changes
  • Good skin elasticity for optimal tightening results
  • Non-smoker or willing to stop prior to treatment
  • Realistic expectations about contouring vs. weight loss
  • No active infection, pregnancy, or contraindicated conditions

Contraindications & Considerations

Your safety is our first priority. Laser Lipo may not be appropriate if you have any of the following. A thorough consultation will determine your eligibility.

Conditions to disclose at consultation:

  • Use of anticoagulants (Coumadin, Plavix, Aspirin, NSAIDs)
  • Hepatitis, cirrhosis, or kidney disease
  • Recent surgery to the intended treatment area
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • History of thrombosis or poor wound healing
  • Heart failure or pacemaker
  • Active or acute infections

Blood work (CBC, PT/PTT, LFT, Lipid Panel) is required 1–2 weeks prior to your procedure. Our team will guide you through every preparation step. If you have had bloodwork within the past six months, no additional blood work is needed.

Results that Build Over Time

Laser Lipo delivers an immediate reduction in fat volume, but the full transformation unfolds gradually as your body heals and your skin tightens. Here's what to expect.

Day 1–2

Return to Light Work

Mild soreness and swelling expected. Compression garment worn. Most feel well enough for desk work.

Week 2

Swelling Subsides

Compression garment continues. Light exercise cleared. First post-op check-in with your provider.

Month 3

Visible Contouring

Significant improvement visible. Skin tightening process underway. Complementary treatments may begin.

Month 6

Full Results

Your complete transformation is visible. Final photos taken. Collagen remodeling continues to refine contour.

FAQ

Laser Lipo uses laser energy to liquefy fat before it's removed, creating more precise contouring and simultaneously tightening skin through collagen stimulation. Traditional liposuction mechanically removes fat without skin-tightening benefits and typically requires general anesthesia and longer recovery. Laser Lipo is minimally invasive, performed under local anesthesia, and designed for patients seeking precise results with minimal disruption.

Most patients achieve their full transformation in a single Laser Lipo session. During your consultation, your provider will assess your anatomy and goals to confirm this for your specific case.

You'll notice immediate contouring, but your full results emerge at six months. Swelling resolves progressively over the first few weeks, and skin continues to tighten as new collagen forms over months. Follow-up visits at 2 weeks, 6 weeks, 3 months, and 6 months allow your provider to track and document your progress.

Laser Lipo is effective on subcutaneous fat deposits throughout the body — most commonly the abdomen, flanks, inner and outer thighs, upper arms, back, and submental (under-chin) area. Your provider will assess which areas are appropriate for you during consultatio

Recovery is manageable for most patients. You'll rest the day of the procedure and can typically return to a desk job within 1–2 days. Light exercise resumes around day 4–5, with strenuous activity cleared at two weeks. A compression garment is worn around the clock for the first two weeks (except while showering). Our team calls you the day after your procedure and supports you through every recovery milestone.

No — Laser Lipo is a body contouring procedure, not a weight-loss treatment. It removes stubborn, localized subcutaneous fat in targeted areas and is most effective for patients already near their goal weight. If weight loss is a primary goal, we can discuss medical weight loss options alongside contouring. Many patients who have treated with Laser Lipo have experienced some weight loss.
