Ellacor Micro-Coring

Woman receiving facial treatment with professional tools.

La Chelé is proud to be one of the first Medical Aesthetics Practices in the country to offer Ellacor Micro-coring!

This state-of-the-art technology is unlike any other treatment you’ve seen!

The device is part of an exciting, new division in the Aesthetic world called micro-coring. Get ready to treat your skin from an entirely different perspective.

What is Micro-Coring?

Micro-coring essentially removes sagging skin without the need for surgery. The device uses hollow needles and vacuum suction to stamp sections of the treatment area, removing tiny pieces of skin. The size and design of the needles eliminate the possibility of surface level scaring.

After the treatment, the body will naturally rebuild and replace the removed cores with new skin. This results in a tighter, smoother appearance with a major reduction of moderate to severe wrinkles. This advanced technology can remove up to 8% of skin, with 81 skin “corDes” removed per click at up to 4mm depth. The idea is very similar to the concept of skin biopsies that don’t require stitches and heal without any scarring.

Ellacor is the only FDA-cleared procedure to remove excess skin non-surgically.

How do I know if I am a candidate for Ellacor?

The ideal candidate is someone with mild to moderate skin laxity of the mid to lower face, neck, or select areas of the body who is seeking noticeable skin tightening without undergoing surgery. Ellacor is currently FDA-cleared for Fitzpatrick skin types I through IV. Clinical studies are ongoing to evaluate treatment safety and effectiveness for additional skin types.

What is the downtime for Micro-Coring?

Because no heat is used during treatment, healing is typically faster than energy-based skin tightening procedures. The average initial healing time for the treated micro-cores is approximately 5 to 7 days.

After treatment, patients may experience redness, swelling, tightness, peeling, and visible grid or circular marks at the treatment sites. These marks often improve within 1 to 2 weeks, although deeper treatments may require additional time for full resolution.

How long does it take to see results from Ellacor?

How many times do I need to treat with Ellacor to achieve the best results?

Initial changes in the skin can become noticeable within a few weeks, with the skin appearing firmer and smoother. Photos are typically taken at the one-month mark to track progress, though full collagen development and healing take 3-6 months.

Clinical studies suggest a series of up to three treatments spaced one month apart. However, we tailor each treatment plan to individual needs, and many patients are thrilled with the results after just one session. At the 2019 American Society for Dermatologic Surgery conference, Ellacor was shown to achieve a 90% improvement in moderate to severe wrinkles within six months after up to three treatments. Additionally, 86% of patients reported being “satisfied” or “extremely satisfied” with their results.
